PM attends CARICOM-Saudi Arabia Summit

At the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Hon. Philip E Davis KC, MP, is currently en route to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he will join other Caribbean leaders in attending the first ever CARICOM-Saudi Arabia Summit, November 16th-17th, 2023. The Summit will be co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Excellency Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica and Chair of CARICOM.  

At The Summit, the leaders are expected to reaffirm the friendship between the region and Saudi Arabia and discuss areas of mutual concern such as: promoting peace and security in the respective regions through mutual cooperation; exploring collaboration in the areas of education, maritime cooperation, food security, energy and tourism amongst others; promoting trade and investment between Saudi Arabia and The Caribbean; and working together to address climate change and related challenges, including access to climate financing. 

Deputy Prime Minister Hon. I. Chester Cooper will serve as Acting Prime Minister until Friday 17, November 2023 when the Prime Minister returns.
