PMDU Priorities
The Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU), based in the Office of the Prime Minister, is dedicated to delivering results for the Bahamian people. We work across ministries to make sure key government priorities make a real difference in people’s lives.
Our role focuses implementation, putting plans into action. We partner closely with government agencies and the private sector to turn big ideas into results. We use data to guide decisions and track outcomes to ensure progress reaches communities across our islands.
At its core, PMDU is about impact – strengthening public services, investing in our people, and creating opportunities that transform lives.

Digitization
MyGateway
The Government of The Bahamas is transforming the way services are delivered. From applying for a passport to renewing a driver’s license or requesting a police record, more services are going online removing long waits and breaking down barriers, especially for those residents on our Family Islands.
Through a partnership with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, PMDU is helping lead this digital shift by expanding MyGateway and streamlining services so they’re fully online from start to finish.
Our goal is ambitious: by July 2026, we aim to have 165,000 Bahamians registered on MyGateway. As of July 2025, we’re already at 127,723 – and growing every day.

Education
School Attendance
Getting our children back into classrooms and ready to learn has been a top priority for the Davis Administration. After the pandemic disrupted education across The Bahamas, we knew bold action was necessary to make sure every child has the support they need to succeed.
One major step forward is the School Breakfast Programme, overseen by PMDU. What started in just 13 schools has now grown to 90, reaching more than 11,000 students and will increase again in September to 115 schools. Each meal is carefully designed in collaboration with food scientists to be balanced, nourishing, and packed with the fuel kids need to focus and thrive.
This programme is about more than meals. It’s about helping families with the cost of living, giving every child an equal start to the day, and investing in the future of our nation.
At the end of the 2024/2025 school year, we served nearly a million meal. As we prepare for the 2025/2026 school year, we anticipate serving over 20,000 students across all primary, all age and speciality schools nationwide, a total of 115 schools in all.

Energy
The Davis Administration is delivering the first nationwide energy reform with modern technology and island-specific solutions. These changes will cut costs, boost reliability, and accelerate the shift to clean energy – building a stronger economy with greater opportunities for Bahamians.
PMDU is driving progress in two key areas:
- Energy Infrastructure: Expanding renewable energy capacity across The Bahamas
- Energy Efficiency: Reducing costs through retrofits in government buildings and fleets

Food Security
Golden Yolk
From day one, the Davis Administration made national food security a top priority and out of that commitment came the Gold Yolk Project.
By empowering local farmers to boost egg production now, we’re laying the foundation for greater self-sufficiency in the future. In partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Works, PMDU is working to build 28 modern egg houses across 12 islands by 2026.
These investments in agriculture will create new opportunities for Bahamians and ensure more of what we eat is grown right here at home.

Health
Expanding Access to Healthcare
When the Davis Administration took office, it set out to expand access to healthcare with a clear belief: every Bahamian should be able to get care when and where they need it most.
PMDU, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, is working to deliver 8 new clinics across underserved Family Islands by July 2026, bringing quality healthcare closer to home.

Housing
Access to Affordable Housing
Increasing access to affordable housing is a top priority for the Davis Administration. Owning a home means more than just a roof overhead – it’s about dignity, security, and building generational wealth.
Through the Rent-to-Own Programme, A Place to Call Home, the government has already built 16 homes, and 16 families are already on the path to homeownership.

Relief
Disaster Relief Management
In recent years, catastrophic storms have shown us the importance of being ready for anything, and the need to do more to keep our people safe. The Davis Administration acted with the Disaster Risk Management Act of 2022, a major step forward in how The Bahamas prepares for and responds to natural disasters.
At the center of this effort is the Disaster Risk Management Agency, charged with year-round planning and coordination. PMDU supports its work with shelter services, Family Island preparedness plans, emergency response, and the delivery of critical relief supplies.

Empowerment
National Youth Guard
The Davis Administration launched the National Youth Guard to strengthen disaster response and empower young Bahamians who answer the call to serve their country. As of August 2025, the programme will welcome its fifth cohort, with 265 graduates already trained and a goal of 500 by July 2026.
PMDU supports this programme to ensure Youth Guards gain hands-on training in carpentry, construction, electrical work, and more practical skills that lead to real jobs. Through partnerships with the National Training Agency, Blue Lagoon, and major cruise lines, many participants have already secured employment.

Youth
National Apprenticeship
Program
To grow our economy and create more opportunities for young Bahamians, the Davis Administration launched the National Apprenticeship Program in July 2025 through a partnership between the Ministry of Labour and PMDU.
The program is designed to build a skilled workforce in key industries like construction, mechanical trades, and maritime services, while reducing youth unemployment.
Our goal for the first year: enroll and graduate 50 apprentices with the hands-on training they need to succeed. Learn more and apply today: www.nap.gov.bs

WiFi in Parks
Too often, opportunities are out of reach because of access – not talent or commitment. To change this, the Davis Administration launched a nationwide initiative to provide free WiFi in at least one park in every constituency. Now, high-speed internet is available to anyone learning a new skill, studying, seeking Government services or searching for opportunities.
PMDU works with partners at BTC and Cable Bahamas to make this possible, breaking down digital barriers and creating more pathways for Bahamians.

Health
COVID Prevention & Spread Reduction
In 2021, the Davis Administration pledged in the Blueprint for Change to take swift action to curb the spread of COVID-19 while easing the financial burden on Bahamians. That commitment led to immediate steps to provide free testing and distribute high-quality medical-grade masks nationwide.
Within just 40 days of taking office, the first free testing centers opened on islands hardest hit by outbreaks. By January 2022, free testing was available across key islands and communities with the largest outbreaks delivering on the promise to protect lives and communities.

Relief
Housing Accessibility
In the Blueprint for Change, the Davis Administration committed to delivering immediate relief for communities still recovering from past storms especially in Abaco.
Once in office, PMDU partnered with the Ministry of Social Services and the Ministry of Transport and Housing to work with the 38 residents of Spring City, Abaco to find a permanently structured residence. By September 2022, that goal was achieved: every family was supported as they relocated to safe, fully livable homes with modern infrastructure.
With all residents resettled, the relief shelters in Spring City were demolished making way for future redevelopment and a stronger, more resilient community.
