PMDU Priorities
The Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) is a centre of government unit located in the Office of the Prime Minister. PMDU plays a critical role in supporting the strategic planning and implementation of the Government’s priority initiatives.
Our work requires us to engage with stakeholders across government and in the private sector to assist in ensuring that decision making is driven by data, and that reporting on progress is based on evidence.

Digitization
MyGateway
The Government of The Bahamas has made great strides to digitize numerous services across multiple agencies in the country. Improving the easy of doing business and removing multiple barriers for family island residents as well. PMDU has partnered with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to drive the registration of users, while ensuring all users are aware of all available services.
By July 2026 the goal is to have at least 165,000 registered users to 165,000 users on MyGateway.
As of March 2025 there were 123,000 registered users on the site.

Education
Increasing school attendance has been a focus of the Davis Administration as the fallout in school attendance across The Bahamas after the Covid-19 pandemic was monumental.
To date the government has put in place numerous programs to re-engage both parents and students in public schools across The Bahamas. One of these programs is the School Breakfast Program, which is monitored by PMDU.
What began in 13 schools has expanded to 90, reaching over 11,000 students. Designed in collaboration with food scientists, the programme ensures that every meal is balanced, nourishing, and designed to fuel learning.
This initiative is about more than just meals—it’s an investment in education, student well-being, assistance with cost of living, and the future of our nation.

Energy
The Davis Administration has embarked on the most ambitious and far-reaching reform of the energy sector in the history of The Bahamas.
This reform is guided by the understanding that energy is central to national development and that the longstanding failures in the electricity system have become too costly to ignore.
The key components of this monitored by the PMDU is the transformation in:
- Energy Infrastructure: Increasing renewable energy capacity for The Bahamas
- Energy Efficiency: Increasing savings through energy efficiency retrofits in government buildings and fleets

Golden Yolk
The global pandemic, taught the world that the systems we rely on for everything from technologies to food supplies can easily be disrupted.
For the incoming Davis Administration the conversation of national food security was a key priority and the birthplace of the Gold Yolk project. This project is rooted bolstering local farmers for the production of eggs in the short term with a long term goal of holistic self sustainability in egg product.
PMDU and the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Works have the goal of creating 28 egg house across 12 Bahamian islands, by the end of 2026.

Relief
Disaster Relief Management
In the wake of catastrophic natural disasters and the pending threat of more to come, the Davis Administration has overhauled the way the country manages preparedness for natural disasters.
This began with the introduction of the Disaster Relief Management agency, which is the accountable party for continuous planning and preparation for disasters. The portfolio of this agency encompasses shelter services and mass care, Family Island Preparedness plans, emergency management, relief supplies and mass distribution.

National Youth Guard
In the wake of catastrophic natural disasters and the pending threat of more to come, the Davis Administration pioneered a new program that would both bolster the country’s rapid response resources, while empowering youth to support their communities nationwide.
August 2025 the Ministry of National Security will enroll it’s fifth cohort. Currently there are 265 active graduates from the National Youth Guard program across The Bahamas. The goal of the program is to train and equip 500 youth guards by July 2026.

Youth National Apprenticeship Program
With a mandate to increase the availability of a skilled workforce in two strategic trade industries, and to reduce the unemployment rate among Bahamian young adults, the Davis Administration has partnered the Ministry of Labour with the PMDU to develop and drive the National Apprenticeship Program. Within the first twelve months of launching the goal is to enroll and graduate 50 apprentice across construction, mechanical and marine trade programs.

WiFi in Parks
The Covid-19 pandemic brought to the forefront like never before the inequalities amongst our society, particularly among school aged children. Moving all learning to a digital platform proved impossible to many without access to the Internet, showcasing the gap in access. With a mindset to increase accessibility across The Bahamas, to both the Internet and all digital resources PMDU was tasked with having at least one park in each constituency enabled with WiFi.
Through partnerships with both BTC and Cable Bahamas, each constituency across the country currently has at least one Wifi enabled park.

Health
COVID Prevention & Spread Reduction
In 2021 the Davis Administration made a commitment in the Blue Print for Change to implement immediate measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, while reducing the cost of prevention on Bahamians. This resulted in immediate action to provide access to free and timely COVID-19 tests and high-quality medical grade masks across The Bahamas.
Within 40 days of taking office the first free testing centers were opened in key islands with large outbreaks. Free testing became available countrywide by January 2022.

Relief
Housing Accessibility
In 2021 the Davis Administration made a commitment in the Blue Print for Change to implement immediate relief measures for the islands of Abaco, Grand Bahama and Ragged Island. Once in office the PMDU partnered with the Ministry of Social Services and the Ministry of Transportation and Housing to provide access to permanent housing for the 38 residents of Spring City Abaco. By August 2022, this goal was accomplished, and the 38 families in this community were relocated to permanent homes with fully livable infrastructure.
Once all residents had been relocated, the relief shelters in Spring City, were fully demolished to ensure the area is ready for redevelopment.
