Prime Minister Davis to Represent The Bahamas at 32nd Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Abuja, Nigeria

Nassau, The Bahamas – Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis will represent The Bahamas at the 32nd Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Abuja, Nigeria, June 25-28, 2025.

The annual meetings are expected to attract more than 6,000 participants, including Heads of State, senior government representatives, business executives, industry leaders, policymakers, academic scholars, and professional advisors from across Africa, the Caribbean, and the international community.

AAM2025 provides Prime Minister Davis with a strategic platform to engage with African leaders on initiatives that will strengthen economic ties between The Bahamas, Africa, and the Caribbean diaspora.

The visit marks the continuation of The Bahamas’ growing partnership with Afreximbank, building on the foundation established when The Bahamas hosted the Afreximbank Annual Meetings 2024 in Nassau.

During that historic gathering, Afreximbank and The Bahamas signed an Agreement to avail a Project Preparation Facility in favour of the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to develop and implement an Afro-Caribbean Marketplace.

The partnership was further strengthened when Prime Minister Davis signed a $200 million Framework Agreement with Afreximbank focused on developing climate-resilient and trade-enhancing infrastructure in The Bahamas, including vital projects in road construction, energy development, and other essential economic infrastructure.

Prime Minister Davis will return to The Bahamas on Monday, June 30, 2025. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. I. Chester Cooper will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
