Prime Minister Minnis visits feeding center in Freeport on his way to East End settlements

Press Release – Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis visited the World Central Kitchen (WCK) feeding center in Freeport on Sunday 6 October before heading to East End Grand Bahama to assess recovery and reconstruction efforts.

The feeding center provides three hot meals per day. Nutritionists are on hand to ensure that meals are healthy and balanced.

Prime Minister Minnis also took the time to help with preparations and ate breakfast at the center.

WCK, headed by internationally renowned Chef Jose Andrés, is serving 20,000 meals per day to those affected by Hurricane Dorian. The organization has been working on the ground in Abaco and Grand Bahama since immediately after the passage of the storm.

The Prime Minister and his wife, Mrs. Patricia Minnis, arrived in Grand Bahama on Saturday 5 October to attend the funeral of his brother, Cecil Bosfield, who passed away in Florida in early September.

The Prime Minister returns to Nassau later today.
