Ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning.
I’m pleased to be here today, alongside our partners from Voir Beach, to support an exciting project rooted in the rich culture of The Bahamas.
This signing between the Government of The Bahamas and Voir Beach represents an investment in infrastructure, culture, and community.
It also represents Bahamian ownership.
We talk a lot about the need for Bahamians to own more of our tourism product, as well as our luxury real estate market.
Well, today, I am particularly pleased to sign this agreement with two Bahamian investors with a vision.
It is my hope that other potential domestic investors will be inspired by your example.
There was a time when a project like this would only be possible through foreign direct investment.
So, Adrian and Adrianna, I applaud you for taking this big step to further your entrepreneurial dreams.
Your plans for Voir Beach are truly impressive.
The plan calls for two 14-storey mixed-use buildings, which will blend residential and hotel spaces with world-class amenities. Guests and residents will enjoy restaurants, rooftop pools, a recording studio, a nightclub, a spa, and a seaside bar and jetty — offering a fusion of leisure and luxury.
Meanwhile, Balmoral Island will be transformed into a premier recreational paradise.
The property will feature:
- Three clubhouses, each seating up to 500 guests
- Twenty-three land and overwater cottages
- A 100-slip marina
- Three pools, a performance area, and entertainment stages; and
- A helipad and seaplane docking facilities
Across both sites, modern and traditional Bahamian architecture will be showcased, paying homage to our rich cultural heritage.
The highlighting of our culture is critical.
Going forward, every major investment in our islands must reflect and celebrate who we are as Bahamians.
After all, our culture is our greatest asset, and it must be at the forefront of our tourism industry and national development agenda.
Over the next four years, 500 Bahamians will find employment during construction, with an additional 744 full-time jobs available once operations begin. Beyond these direct roles, countless local businesses will benefit from increased demand for goods and services, expanding economic opportunities for Bahamians across various industries.
Ladies and gentlemen, projects of this scale do not happen in isolation. They are the result of vision, partnership, and unwavering commitment.
Today, we celebrate a milestone, but the real work begins now. We must ensure that this development sets a new standard for sustainable, culturally rich, and economically empowering investments in The Bahamas.
I thank the team at Voir Beach for their dedication, the Bahamas Investment Authority for their leadership, and all others who have played a role in bringing us to this moment.
This investment is one of many in our pipeline, a testament to the confidence both foreign and domestic investors have in our nation’s steady economic growth and potential.
I look forward to breaking ground in late 2025 and to witnessing this vision come to life.
I trust that our shared commitment to sustainability, innovation, and Bahamian empowerment will be the driving force of its success. Thank you and may God continue to bless the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
