National Apprenticeship Programme

Gain hands-on experience and earn while you learn through this one-year training and job placement initiative. 

The programme is currently in its pilot phase, training young Bahamians in the Construction, Mechanical Trades, and Maritime sectors. 

Recruitment for the next cohort begins soon, expanding into Medical & Health Services, Customer Service & Hospitality, and Office & Administrative Skills.

Who Can Apply:

Bahamian youth ages 16 to 25 who are ready to gain practical experience, develop professional skills, and prepare for meaningful careers.

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) equips Bahamians with practical, career-ready skills through certificate and diploma programmes in trades, technology, and industry innovation. The Creative & Performing Arts School (CAPAS) is The Bahamas’ first tuition-free public institution dedicated to the arts, offering specialized education in creative, performing, and visual disciplines. Students receive professional instruction in music, dance, acting, design, and production along with the technical and business skills needed to succeed in the creative industries.

The school is expanding its curriculum to include courses in creative writing, directing, and choreography as well as production arts such as lighting, camera, sound, hair, makeup, animation, and set design in 2026.
